In order to use the phone viewer your mobile device needs to be able to access the regular internet. Some phones that claim to be internet compatible are in reality restricted to a specific site or sites supported by a phone company: these phones are not capable of viewing your cameras.
Phones do not necessarily have to be third generation (3G) to have full internet access, but nearly all 3G phones do. Our viewer software is written in Java, which in theory is supported on most newer phones, but phone software is notoriously riddled with inconsistencies and it is difficult to make generalised comments.
It is possible to download the phone viewer to check if it will run on your phone.
However, all 3G phones and many others can receive emails with pictures attached. This functionality should work in all areas of the UK. It enables viewing of a snapshot of the event whether or not you wish to subscribe to the live camera view from your phone.
